Rally at HDTC.
We have a number of instructors to teach at all levels of Rally, and at a variety of times, to suit handlers with other commitments.
Handlers require Basic Obedience skills and/or Participated in Intro to Rally 4 week course, Pet Dog Course or Beginners Obedience.
Rally develops a connection between handlers and their dog, promoting enjoyment for each team.
Rally is a Performance dogs sport, introducing handlers to the world of Dog Sport.
A Rally course has numbered stations that dogs and handlers navigate, performing the specified exercise at each sign. Rally participants will be taught how to demonstrate each station with their dog. The novice level requires the dog to be on-lead, higher levels will be off-lead. Handlers are permitted to use hand and verbal cues and encouraged to praise/pat their dog after completing a station, throughout the course.
There are several Club Test Days conducted throughout the year to gauge the progress of handlers and their dogs and these dates will be posted on the members Rally Facebook page. The Club also conducts official Australian National Kennel Club trials each year for those who wish to compete in this discipline.
