                                                  RULES OF THE HOBART DOG TRAINING CLUB

1. Dogs must always remain on lead unless directed otherwise by an instructor.

2. Dogs are not to be left tied up (to a fence or other object) or left unattended unless they are in a crate or a car.

3. Suitable footwear, i.e. closed shoes must be worn at all times while training on the ground (no slides, thongs or bare feet)

4. No smoking on the ground or in the clubhouse.

5. Children must be 12 years or older to train a dog in a class or handle a dog on the ground during class times.

6. For their own safety young children must always be under the control of a responsible adult during training and should not run around the ground during class time. They should not approach any dog without the permission of their responsible adult and the dog’s owner.

7. As is provided under dog control legislation, you MUST clean up after your dog if it fouls the ground and dispose of the bag in an appropriate bin.

8. No bitches in season are permitted on the ground.

9. A dog which is unwell or unfit will be excluded from training until it has recovered.

10. No hitting or other harsh handling will be tolerated.

11. All dogs should have their core vaccination status maintained to their veterinarian’s satisfaction. Puppies are required to have received the minimum core vaccination (usually two vaccinations 4 weeks apart, or in the case of the single shot vaccine, one vaccination after 10 weeks) or as certified by their veterinarian. Vaccination certificates should be made available on registration.

12. Dogs and handlers may only use jumps or other equipment with permission from instructors, and usually under direct instructor supervision. Dogs under 12 months of age will not be permitted to use jumps.

13. Club Heat Policy…. If the 9.00am weather bureau forecast temperature for any part of the day is 30C or above all classes will be cancelled for the day. Please refer to the weather bureau website www.bom.gov.au
